Fasttracker II

FastTracker IIOne of the most used trackers on the PC scene. Using the same commands and effects like Protracker on the Amiga, but with more channels available, this tracker became very popular by the PC users.

It was a DOS tracker, coded by a demo group called Triton in 1995. (For those too young, DOS was the operating system for the PC's before Windows messed everything up). For many years Fasttracker became the trackers best friend. Offering commands the exact same way as in Protracker, it was easy for musicians on the Amiga scene to switch to Fasttracker.... so many did.

There were multichannel trackers available on the Amiga too, such as OctaMED Sound Studio. But they used another set of commands. If you were used to Protracker, it was too annoying having to learn a new set of effect commands. So people either switched to Fasttracker, or kept to Protracker.... until DigiBooster arrived.
