About: |
Inspired by the misery one of my friends experienced in relation to a failed marriage. Seems we're all eager to find that one true love in our lives, but somehow we fail to keep it alive in the long run. I suppose it is a rather difficult task, since we all change all the time. We know for a fact, that in 3 years everyone around us have changed, for the good or worse.
If two people can't keep a marriage working for more than 5 years, does that mean they shouldn't have been married in the first place? Perhaps, but I don't think it means they never should have been together. I think we're all too fast making those conclusions. A couple can have 4 years of heaven and 1 year of hell, and then they let that 1 year cast a dark shadow over the 4 good years. Don't do that. Move on, but don't consider all of the past to be something you didn't want. Because you did.
I must admit I'm a bit tired of turning on the radio, and listen to the standard of lyrics in the songs today. Maybe I imagine it, but it seems most of the songs are about broken love, and hate towards some old boyfriend/girlfriend. One of the popular female stars released an album not too long ago, where only 1 of the songs weren't about how stupid men are. I find that sad.
And then I go and write something like this, not much different I suppose. Must fit right in there then. ;-)
Perhaps anger and sadness really are the things that inspires the artists best...
Melody and lyrics written by me, singing performed by Birgit Nonklett. Feel free to use this form to give feedback to both of us. Thankyou.
Lyrics
In the corner of a dark sad room Stands a flower all alone Looking out the window, admiring the moon So free, flying on its own
As a dark cloud turns of the light The flower shutters and starts to cry. There’s no joy in the air tonight. And the flower wonders why.
Then it longs for Mexico Where the days were bright With endless love in the night It all began in Mexico That’s where it wants to go
Yes she longs for Mexico There the days are bright With endless love in the night It all began in Mexico That’s where she wants to go
| She remembers a time long ago Feeling safe and loved by everyone Now her self-esteem is covered by snow Even though she’s still an icon
All the sudden a fairy knocks on the door. And the flower opens up. An invitation to a night on the dance floor Exciting event, requires her makeup
Then she return to Mexico Where the days are bright With endless love in the night Dancing close in Mexico This is what makes her glow
Now she lives in Mexico Where are days are bright With endless love in the night There’s nothing like Mexico That’s where she likes to grow |
